Special Precautions

Sliding Glass Doors

Sliding glass doors can be the source of serious injury or even death in a party situation. You should take care to protect your guests from accidentally bumping and breaking your sliding glass doors. One suggestion is to put strips of masking tape onto both panels of the door, creating clearly visible horizontal stripes about every 10" - 12" inches. Nothing kills a party like a bunch of glass and blood and cops and medics ...

Swimming Pools and Hot Tubs

Do not have a party with access to swimming pools or hot tubs without direct supervision of those who use them! In other words, somebody has to be a "lifeguard" at all times. Preferably someone with some lifeguard training, but if they don't have that then at least someone who takes the job seriously and stays sober while they are doing it. Get several people who volunteer for the job, and rotate them during the party. That way everyone can have a good time and stay safe. Don't let your party be ruined by a water accident where someone dies or gets brain damage from a fall or a near-drowning.
